Cinderella: A Timeless Musical Adaptation
The beloved fairy tale "Cinderella" has been transformed into a musical by the iconic duo Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II, known for their remarkable works like "The Sound of Music" and "South Pacific." Although it was originally created for a 1957 television broadcast featuring Julie Andrews, the musical found its way to Broadway only in 2013, making it a unique addition to their repertoire. This version, newly adapted by Douglas Carter Beane, introduces fresh characters and lesser-known songs from the Rodgers and Hammerstein catalog. The national tour of "Rodgers + Hammerstein's Cinderella" is making a stop at the Center for the Performing Arts in San Jose, offering a limited engagement from November 30 to December 2. Tickets range from $43 to $138 for this enchanting production that promises to delight audiences before it moves on to its next destination.
